Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, 
We're pleased to inform you that the proceedings of the international
conference on "Visualising and presenting indicator systems" (organised by
the SFSO, March 14-16, 2005, Neuchâtel) are now availabe on the Internet. 

Lecture titles:
Making sense of the world by having fun with statistics 
Cockpits for managers - why they hardly understand their reports
Communicating quantitative information with colour
Using infographics for social reporting 
Communicating with indicators to the highest level politicians in Finland 
and a Graph memory game  
These titles provide a glimpse of what was in store for participants at the
Visualising Indicators Conference, organized by the SFSO last March. 
Around 80 scientists, statisticians, visual communication experts and
controllers from all over Europe attended the gathering to present and
discuss a wide range of possibilities for aggregating, selecting and
illustrating indicators, especially a huge number of indicators, for
specific groups of people (managers, politicians, interested members of the
general public).

Nous avons le plaisir de vous informer que les actes de la conférence
internationale "Visualising and presenting indicator systems" (organisée par
l'OFS, du 14 au 16 Mars 2005, à Neuchâtel) sont à disposition sur Internet.

Les titres de présentations tels que

ainsi qu'un Graph memory game 
donnent un petit aperçu du vaste programme du colloque qui a eu lieu en mars
dernier à l'OFS et qui était consacré à la visualisation de systèmes
d'indicateurs. 

Environ 80 scientifiques, statisticien-ne-s, spécialistes de la
communication visuelle et du controlling de toute l'Europe se sont réunis et
ont présenté une large palette de possibilités d'agrégation, de sélection et
d'illustration et ont discuté de la manière dont des indicateurs, et
spécialement un grand nombre d'indicateurs, peuvent être visualisés pour un
public cible déterminé (cadres, politicien-ne-s, le public intéressé).

geben einen kleinen Einblick in die Breite des Programms der BFS-Tagung, die
im vergangenen März der Visualisierung von Indikatorensystemen gewidmet war.

Rund 80 Wissenschaftler, Statistikerinnen, Fachleute der visuellen
Kommunikation und Controller aus ganz Europa sind zusammengekommen und haben
eine breite Palette von Aggregations-, Selektions- und
Illustrationsmöglichkeiten vorgestellt und diskutiert, wie Indikatoren, und
speziell eine grosse Zahl von Indikatoren, für ein bestimmtes Zielpublikum
(Managerinnen, Politiker, die interessierte Öffentlichkeit) visualisiert
werden können.
