[Statlist] farewell lecture

[Christina Kuenzli]

As you may know, Professor Frank Hampel will retire officially
on March 31 next year. In this connection, I would like to draw
your attention to the following two events:

1. On Wednesday, January 11, 2006, Frank Hampel will give his 
farewell lecture (in German)

50 Jahre Datenanalyse -- und einige ueberraschende Beobachtungen
  
Time: 17.15, Place: Auditorium Maximum, Main Building of ETH
Zurich.

2. On Friday January 13, Professor Chris Field from Dalhousie
University, Halifax, a long-time collaborator and friend of
Frank Hampel, will give a lecture in his honor:

Wandering and outlying birds: A statistical analysis

Time 15.15, Place: HG E 41 in the Mainbuilding ETH

In the evening, there will be a dinner together somewhere in
the town. 

Everybody is welcome to these events. For the two lectures, no
registration is necessary. If you would like to join us for the
dinner on Friday evening, please send an email to
kuenzli at stat.math.ethz.ch, no later than January 9
so that we can plan accordingly.
