The Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Geneva is seeking an
assistant or associate PROFESSOR in “Affective processes and dynamic signal analysis”
CHARGE: Full time position, including teaching an introductory course on signal analysis (Bachelor) and one on Bayesian methods (Master), as well as an advanced course on dynamic signal analysis in affective sciences (Master, also open to the Swiss Doctoral School for Affective Sciences). The candidate will also participate in the research colloquium of the affective area in the Section of Psychology and will mentor
Master students in that domain. She/He will also participate in research in affective sciences, especially in collaboration with the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (CISA), and will submit grant proposals to national (especially to the
Swiss National Science Foundation) and international research funding agencies. She/He will direct her/his
own research team, including mentoring doctoral students. She/He will also participate in organizational and service bodies of the Section of Psychology and of CISA. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in French after 1 year.
TITLE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Doctorate in psychology, neuroscience, or statistics, or a related field.
The candidate is expected to have research experience in affective sciences and to apply dynamic and/or time‐series analysis for data from multiple sources (e.g., behavioral, psychophysiological, and neuro‐imagery) to reach joint statistical inference, evidenced by peer‐reviewed publications in highest‐standard scientific journals. The candidate should have university teaching experience, a strong interest in teaching statistics and signal analysis in affective sciences, and relevant experience as an independent investigator.
