ETH Foundations of Data Science (ETH-FDS) announces the annual Stiefel Lecture.

The Stiefel Lecture will be given by Dr. Sebastien Bubeck, Microsoft, Washington, USA, on May 27, 2024, ETH Zurich, HG F 30 at 17:30.


Titel: Small Language Models

Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) have taken the field of AI by storm. But how large do they really need to be? I'll discuss the phi series of models from Microsoft, which exhibit many of the striking emergent properties of LLMs despite having merely a few billion parameters.


The talk will be followed by an apero.
